Unlike ETIAS, you cannot apply for a Schengen visa online. You must submit all applications in person at an embassy, consulate, or visa application center (VAC) like VFS Global or TLS Contact.

Can I apply for a Schengen visa online?

How far in advance should I apply?
Apply 4-6 weeks before your trip, but no more than 6 months in advance. During peak season, appointments book up quickly, so do not wait until the deadline.
What if the embassy for my destination country is not in my country?
Some countries have representation agreements where another Schengen country handles their visas. Check the destination country's foreign ministry website to find which embassy serves your location.
Can someone else submit my application for me?
Generally no — you must appear in person for biometrics. However, if you have provided biometrics in the last 59 months, some embassies may allow a representative to submit documents on your behalf. Check with your specific embassy.
What happens if my application is incomplete?
