What is a Schengen visa?
A short-stay (Type C) Schengen visa lets eligible travelers visit any of the 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day window. You apply at the consulate of your main destination — typically the country you'll spend most time in — submit your passport, photo, insurance certificate and supporting documents, and roughly two weeks later you have a sticker in your passport unlocking the whole zone.
